Ripple

Ripple

Add a ripple effect to your footage.

Overview

The Ripple effect in Adobe After Effects creates the illusion of ripples or waves emanating from a central point, simulating the appearance of water or other wave-like distortions.

Controls

  • Radius: This determines the distance over which the ripples spread. A larger radius means the ripples will extend further across the layer.

  • Phase: Defines phase of wave at which the ripple starts.

  • Wave Width: Determines the distance between the peaks of the waves. Larger values create wider, more spaced-out ripples.

  • Wave Height: Controls the intensity or amplitude of the ripples. Higher values create more pronounced waves.

  • Center: The effect originates from a specific point in your layer, which you can adjust to set the starting point of the ripples.

  • Is Symmetric: Makes ripples symmetrical

  • Is Repeating UV: Repeats edges of footage to fill in gaps create by effect.

  • Time: Defines wave or ripple movement over time
