How to Add Effect to Video

Learn how to apply effect to your video

Click the “Transitions & Effects” button in the bottom right corner to access all of Fable’s effects. Simply click on the desired effect to apply it to a layer in your timeline. You can find specific effects using the search bar at the top of the panel.

All applied effects will appear at the bottom of the properties panel. Each effect has a header where you can learn more about the effect, collapse/expand the properties, toggle visibility, and copy/paste/duplicate/delete the effect.

💡 Note: You can copy + paste any effect(s) from one layer to another. And if you want to have an effect be applied to multiple layers, we suggest grouping those layers together and applying the effect to the group.

Each effect has its own unique properties and values that you can adjust to your liking. You can also keyframe certain values/properties to have them change over time.

💡 Note: You can only keyframe values/properties of effects that are applied to an element in your timeline. You will not be able to keyframe the properties of any effects applied to the artboard.

Effects in Fable follow a “Bottom up” structure where effects at the bottom of the list will be applied on top of any effect above it. Experiment with the order of your effects to achieve unique and interesting results.

💡 Note: Applying an effect will add it to the bottom of the list and will affect any previously added effects.
