Displacement

Displacement

Use displacement to distort your layers.

Overview

The displacement effect is used to distort or displace pixels in a layer based on the luminance values of a grayscale image defined by one of the preset textures. This effect can be used to create various visual effects, such as water ripples, heat waves, or glitch effects.

Controls

  • Texture: Type of texture used as the displacement map. This option will determine how the pixels of the target layer are displaced.

  • Angle: Angle in which displacement occurs.

  • Distance: How far pixels are displaced from source footage.

  • Scale: Size of texture used for displacement.

  • Match texture ratio: Match texture to the ratio of the target layer.

  • Offset: Offset texture.

  • Smooth Edges: Smooth texture towards edges of the layer.
