Fable’s mission is to empower creators with access and opportunities to tell stories, and today, we’re excited to share these huge milestones on our journey…

Partnering with Redpoint Ventures

We’re thrilled to announce Fable’s $15M Series A, led by Redpoint Ventures, and we’re excited to welcome Annie Kadavy as the newest member of our Board. From day 1, it was clear how aligned Annie’s and Redpoint’s values are with our principles for building category-defining software, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with the Redpoint team through the next phase of Fable’s growth and beyond.

We’re incredibly grateful to all of our investors for being early believers, and we’re thrilled that Collaborative Fund, SIP Global Partners, Harrison Metal, Third Kind Venture Capital, LightShed Ventures, Lenny Rachitsky (Lenny’s Newsletter), and David Hoang (Design, Webflow) all participated in the round. This additional $15M in Series A funding brings Fable’s total funding to $22.4M and allows us to accelerate the production and distribution of the platform.

Fable is available for all!

Building something as powerful and accessible as motion software is no trivial task, and after 3+ years in the making, we’re proud to announce we’re opening Fable to everyone! Starting today, creators can start animating with Fable for free, and we can’t wait to welcome you into our community.

Fable is motion design software for the next generation of creators that’s powerful for pros, intuitive for beginners, and collaborative for teams.

The problems our community feels daily

  • Motion is intimidating: Motion as a storytelling medium is everywhere we look — from Instagram to Netflix, and it’s never been easier for anyone with an internet connection to build a brand and engage an audience. Yet creating pro-grade moving content is intimidating and incredibly difficult.

  • Motion is stuck offline: We’re at a unique moment in time where cloud-based software is proving the future of creative work is not only happening in a browser, but is thriving. We hear time and time again how the world’s top creative teams are unbundling their workflows to the browser to collaborate in a more remote world, but motion is the big missing piece.

How Fable is modernizing motion

  • It’s pro-grade software: At the heart of Fable is a powerful motion toolkit that comes loaded with a vector engine, rich effects, and a suite of motion tools to fuel endless creative possibilities. Exporting with Fable also happens in the cloud, supporting GIFs, MP4, ProRes, and even Lottie.

  • It’s exclusively for everyone: The core of our mission is to empower creators and unlock storytelling opportunities, so we designed Fable from day 1 to be accessible as much as it is powerful. And to complement the platform, the Fable Academy is packed with tips and tutorials to help newcomers finally get started with motion.

  • It’s collaborative for teams: With Fable, teams have a centralized workspace to manage files, assets, and permissions. Projects can be shared with stakeholders with just a link, and reviewing happens inline, without rendering projects or ever leaving the app.

This is the future we believe will help more creators level up their skills with motion, and will empower teams to move the missing piece of their creative workflows to the cloud. We can’t wait to see the stories you’ll tell, and feel free to join the discussion on Product Hunt.

I speak on behalf of the entire Fable team when we say how grateful we are for the belief and support of our users, partners, and investors. We’re not even 1% along our journey, and we can’t wait to show you what we’re working on next.

Speaking of which, come and help out! If you or someone you know might be interested in joining our team, check out open positions and send us a hello.
