Hello Fablers, and welcome back to another Academy tutorial. In this one, we're going to look at the Advanced Half Tone effect.
Let's take our single layer here. With it selected, let's go to the top right to the effects panel and let's type in halftone or begin to type it in. We're going to select the half tone advanced.
Half tone advanced gives us a higher degree of control over the simple generic version of half tone. We're able to control the shape. We can use circles, lines or quads. Cycle through here. Get some cool effects. Use circle for now.
We can tell it to leave the color or to make our image black and white with using gray scale.
With radius here, we actually do control the size of the dots. We can rotate our effect, control the scatter, which is a little bit of a randomization here. There's a noise pattern being generated on top of our effect.
We can choose how the effect blends with the layers below it. So depending on your use case, you can cycle through these and each one of them will give you a different effect.
This one let's just go with add. Actually, let's go with multiply.
The value will increase or decrease the general brightness. And if your image has an alpha channel, you can use it as a delineator or not. Finally, global opacity has always controls the visibility of our effect on our layer.
