Hey Fablers, in this video, we're going to talk about the box blur. Using the same reference image we had before, let's go to the top, right to our effects library and choose box blur and apply it. Now box blur is kind of a universal blur. You can think of it as what other programs refer to as a Gaussian blur, basically blurs all the pixels around each other to give this nice, smooth out of focus look.
Our two main sliders here are the strength and the "is spreading". Now, in this case, you can see the difference. The strength obviously blurs it out further, but if we take a look here at the bounding box or the edge of our artwork, the moment you turn on "is spreading" and we de-select our layer you'll notice that it actually blends it in with the space.
It goes beyond the bounds of our layer. This becomes really handy when you're trying to composite and blend images together.
