What up Fablers. Welcome back to yet another chapter of Fable Academy's 30(ish) Clicks. In this series our goal is to get you making cool motion design inside of Fable with as few clicks as possible. Let's jump in.
In this one, we're going to make this really trippy looking square that spins around and has all these cool graphical lines on the inside.
To start, let's set our background color to #0D0D0D. Our canvas is set at 1920 by 1080. We're going to set our frame rate to 30 frames per second. And our duration will be four seconds.
Our first step let's select our square tool. We're going to drag it on the canvas to create our first shape.
In this case a square. Use the tools in the top right to align vertically and horizontally. Let's set our rotation to 45 degrees.
Disable our fill, and enable the stroke. We're going to set the stroke color to #F2F2F0, and let's set our stroke width to five.
At zero seconds, we're going to keyframe our scale property to 97%.
And at two seconds, we're going to go to minus 97%.
Select our layer and group it.
Rename our layer.
At two seconds, we're going to keyframe scale X at 100%. Then we're going to go back to zero on our timeline in terms of time. And let's set a keyframe of our X scale at minus 100.
So select the layer. Control D to duplicate. Let's adjust two frames forward. We're going to continue to duplicate these layers and our groupings of layers until we have enough layers to get us to two seconds.
Each time we're selecting and hitting control D, and adjusting our layers to be two frames ahead.
Once we have our square groups that begin the first frames of our animation at the two second mark, we're going to select all, control G, to make a master group.
At zero seconds, we're going to set a rotation keyframe of zero degrees. At four seconds, we're going to set it to 180 degrees.
Then let's go up to the top right into our effects panel, choose the mirror effect and enable horizontal. Then we're going to apply our glow effect and we're going to adjust the intensity to 25.8 .
Just like that, boom, we've got some abstract geometric art. And there we have it. Can't wait to see you in the next one.
